*pagan tableaux*

Now i'm not really someone who's all mad about weddings. Most wedding blogs highly irritate me, except for this tumblr which has proven to be quite intriguing {and where i have sourced these images}. And yet, i'm beginning to see that they're a rather good outlet for creating marvelous tableaux - especially the ones outside. I like that it's all at the mercy of the elements, and no one can really out-style nature herself - not even the efforts below. Twinkling lights and rough tables and chairs - and then the million details that make things truly special. And small. Otherwise i think i'd elope - which to me sounds rather romantic and fun! The other option is to take over a ruined abbey - preferably in the hills overlooking the sea on a warm still evening - and bedeck it in flowers and lights and bunting and a bonfire and wallah! A perfectly pagan wedding. Not that i'm having one of course... but if I did, my bridesmaids would wear pale grey {tease me not alice speak} and hold bunches of yellow and pink flowers.

i'm dreaming of a white...

Gabriel and I have been salivating over these two Alice Temperley beauties. The first one is mine!!! We found the collection to have a shape to suit any body type, whist still managing to keep the romantic lightweight detailing Temperley is renowned for. I personally love it when there's a simple, strong neckline, with a long skirt that skims the hips (like top one!!!) We browsed the Vera Wangs too, but found them rather depressingly heavy looking, so it's Temperley all the way peeps...*

colour me beautiful

Even though it's absolutely bucketing it down outside, i'm feeling surprisingly colourful today. The best advice I ever received about colour was from my grandmother. "A little bit of yellow goes a long way" and "If in doubt, look at nature for the best colour combinations". She's been right every time...

I couldn't download this image as saturated as it is originally, but these are bridesmaids in the most beautiful wedding that can be found at the link below.

lacroix dreams

These are the richest, most sumptuous, drool-worthy wedding gowns I have ever laid eyes on! And they both come courtesy of the master Christian Lacroix; one from his latest couture collection, and the other from fall 2007. His creations have been described as a "spirited, delightful, ethnic mix-up," and I quite agree.

Now if only I could get the one waiting for me at the altar to wear this fantastic ensemble i'd be quite delirious...
